What is a veterinary EMR system?
An electronic medical record (EMR) system keeps each pet's visits, diagnoses, prescriptions, tests, vaccinations and bills on the computer instead of in registers. In Zootara the record sits beside the till, the reminders and the stock, so the visit and its bill are one.
What is Zootara?
Practice management software for veterinary clinics and pet hospitals in Pakistan: a till and billing (POS), patient records (EMR), WhatsApp vaccine reminders, medicine inventory and reports, for one branch or several. It runs in the browser on the laptop and phones you already have.
Can Zootara handle multi-branch pet clinics in Pakistan?
Yes. Each branch has its own till, cash count, stock and receipt details. The owner sees each branch or all of them together, moves stock between branches, and chooses whether branches share a pet's medical record. Staff tied to one branch see only that branch.
What happens if the clinic internet goes down?
The counter keeps working. The bill in hand can be finished: bills, visits and payments are kept on the laptop and upload by themselves when the internet is back. A few things need the internet, such as downloading reports, and they say so if you try them offline.
Who built Zootara?
Dr Hafiz Hamza Saeed, a licensed veterinarian (DVM), together with the front desk, doctors and owner of a working two-branch pet hospital in Pakistan. Every screen was tried at their counter and changed until their staff could use it without being shown.
Which cities do you work in?
Any city in Pakistan: Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad or anywhere else. Zootara runs in the browser, and we set your clinic up with you on a call.
My staff are not good with computers.
If they can use WhatsApp, they can use Zootara. One search box finds a client by phone number, the till has big buttons, and every screen says what it does in plain words.
Do I need a new computer or printer?
No. It runs in the browser on the laptop or desktop you already have, and on any phone. It prints on your current receipt printer (80 mm or 58 mm) or an ordinary A4 printer.
How do the reminders reach my clients?
From your clinic's own WhatsApp. The message is already written, in your clinic's name, and the front desk presses Send. There are no bulk broadcasts, which are what get numbers blocked.
We write notes in Urdu. Will that work?
Yes. The screens are in simple English, and notes, complaints and medicines can be written in Urdu or Roman Urdu.
Is my data safe? Can another clinic see it?
Each clinic's records are walled off by the database itself, so no other clinic can read them. Everything is backed up every night, and you can download all of it to Excel at any time.
Is the price per doctor?
No. The price is per branch, whatever the number of doctors and staff: PKR 3,000 a month for the clinic, and PKR 3,000 a month for each more branch.
How do I pay?
In advance, monthly or yearly. A year costs ten months: PKR 30,000 for one branch instead of PKR 36,000.
